About Us
The St. Tammany Town and Country Garden Club was organized in 1960 and federated in 1963. The goal of the club is to promote a greater interest in gardening for the community, to develop programs that showcase the importance of gardens to the development of regional food traditions, acquire a wider knowledge of flowers, their arrangement, and their culture, and to participate in the activities of the National Garden Clubs, Inc. For their 2018-19 theme, the Club chose "Deep Roots - Strong Growth" to show their commitment to preserving and beautifying their environment, and enjoying the fellowship of other gardeners. Made up of 35 members and several honorees, members pledge "to protect and conserve the natural resources of the planet earth and promise to promote education so they may become caretakers of our air, water, forest, land, and wild life." The Town and Country Garden Club is a member of the Louisiana Garden Club Federation Inc. and the Deep South Region of the National Garden Clubs Inc.
